Sustainable Innovation in Healthcare at Nij Smellinghe Hospital

Nij Smellinghe Hospital in Drachten is undergoing an impressive transformation. In recent years, and in the years to come, there has been and will continue to be extensive construction, renovation, and relocation. All with one clear goal: to make the outpatient clinics and departments as sustainable and future-proof as possible.

Stevens Van Dijck has been contributing to this progress for many years. As project manager and site supervisor, we oversee various new-build and renovation projects. Following successful completions of, among others, the operating complex, PET-CT, the pharmacy and laboratory, the ophthalmology department, the CSA, a geothermal installation, a new outpatient clinic, and the Vrouw & Kind ward, we are now working at the heart of the hospital on the Acute Care and Gastroenterology departments.

Our colleagues Hillebrand Hartholt and Tjessy Lensvelt keep a firm grip on the process while the hospital continues to operate at full capacity. That is precisely what makes every intervention challenging and demands careful coordination and close collaboration with the real estate department and the healthcare professionals involved.

We believe in strong partnerships that deliver real results. Curious how we do it? Take a look at how we are building the future of healthcare together with and for Nij Smellinghe Hospital.
