On 22 January 2026, the implementation agreement between the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf and construction consortium LP4 was signed for Building I — an important milestone in the renovation of complex section 2.
Building I will soon serve as the new entrance for visitors to the House of Representatives. At the Hofplaats, a pavilion will be constructed with underground facilities and a passageway to the main building.
A welcome improvement, as it will create additional capacity to accommodate more visitors — increasing from 300,000 to an impressive 500,000 per year.
