We proudly look back on the official completion of Het Podium in Hoogeveen on Friday, April 25! Over the past period, we have dedicatedly managed the project and overseen the large-scale renovation of this iconic youth center.
What began in 1989 as De Box — a new home base for young people after the closure of De Baken — has since evolved into a fully-fledged core stage of national significance. Over the years, Het Podium has continued to innovate and expand, and with this extensive renovation, another major step forward has been taken.
The renovation, which began last summer, has resulted in a completely renewed building that welcomes all genres and generations. Think of improved acoustics, optimal audience facilities, and a fresh, contemporary interior. Together with the design team and the client, the focus has been on future-proofing, sustainability, and experience.
On May 23, 2025, Het Podium was officially reopened with a festive celebration. Concerts started immediately afterward, marking the return of Het Podium to full operation. Chef’Special had the honor of being the first band to perform on May 28, 2025.
It is truly special to have contributed to a place with such cultural significance — for Hoogeveen, the north of the Netherlands, and far beyond.
