For the brand-new building of the Rotterdam Education and Rehabilitation Center (ROeR), we had the honor of serving as the housing consultant, guiding the client, Rijndam Rehabilitation, throughout the entire design and realization process. Our role was unique: we acted as Rijndam’s representative as a tenant within a larger project organization – a position that allowed us to advise independently and foster collaboration.
From housing consultancy and financial matters to drafting the lease agreement and the multi-year maintenance plan (MJOP), we were involved from the very first sketch. We also actively contributed ideas regarding the layout and functional design of the building, which was developed to provide integrated rehabilitation care and education for as many as 350 children and young people with disabilities.
The result? A modern and future-oriented center spanning 13,000 m², featuring bright classrooms, advanced treatment rooms, innovative therapy spaces, sports halls, and even a private swimming pool. An inspiring place fully dedicated to development, care, and recovery.
This project perfectly demonstrates what’s possible when healthcare and education truly work together – and how valuable independent housing consultancy can be in a complex environment.
