On Thursday, January 23, 2025, a significant milestone was celebrated: the start of construction for the new collection location of the North Netherlands police. This is an exciting project in which several support services will be housed in an efficient and innovative new building in Drachten.
With great attention to the unique island atmosphere and a design where architecture and nature reinforce each other, a modern, sustainable campus is being created. In collaboration with cepezed and BoschSlabbers Landscape Architects, a green, park-like environment is being realized. This includes the development of four new energy-efficient buildings, the expansion of an existing building, smartly designed parking areas integrated into the landscape, and a strong focus on ecology, such as natural banks and water retention.
This proj
ect marks an important step in the reorganization of the North Netherlands Police. Efficiency and sustainability are central to this initiative, and the result promises to be not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. A future-proof step for the region!
